On Passage.

Galapagos to Marquesas.
Day 1 of many with a tads under 3000nm to the Marquesas.
We had an unexpected SE wind for most of the day giving us a lift out of Isabela. However, now we have hit negative current!
Position is 01 10 S 91 28.8 W
Our plan is to head towards 03 S and 100 W as this keeps us out of an area of convection that sits south of Galapagos. From there we head down to 4 S on an angle of around 250 and sit between 4 and 5 S for most of the way to Marquesas, wind permitting as we have 1.5 knots of positive current down there. About 800 miles from Marquesas we will head down to Hiva Oa.
Weather forecast..nada!! ie no wind! Might be a while before we get there.
We have HF scheds with yachts in front which is good re wind.
some yachts are choosing to drift and wait for wind. We have a fuel plan!!
ETA Marquesas in around April 19.
